Vetrivendhan floored by SIMBU'S praise

The audio-launch of the film ‘Adhinarayana’ was held recently. The film is directed by newcomer Vetrivendhan, who happens to be a close friend of Vetrimaran, who directed Dhanush’s superhit film ‘Polladhavan’ last year. Maran wished his friend the very best and hoped he would make it a memorable directorial debut. Maran added that Vendhan should have made his debut long back but had remained unlucky.

Vetrimaran happens to be one of a few good men in the industry who tend to help his/her friends in distress. He is said to have liberally helped Vetrivendhan before the latter could find his foothold in the industry. Meanwhile, actor Simbu has rendered a song in the film ‘Adhinarayana’. When queried as to what was the ‘secret’ behind asking Simbu to sing and whether it was a prelude to casting him in his next film, Vendhan smiled.

“Srikanth Devaa, the music director of ‘Adhinarayana’, and Simbu are close friends. When the song was conceived, it was Devaa who proposed tha

Silambarasan sings for Srikanth!

Apart from acting, directing, writing screenplay and dialogues, Silambarasan is also known for lending his unique voice to songs. ‘Loosu Penney’ and ‘Thathai Thathai’ are to name a few which he sung for himself. Silambarasan had also earlier sung for other heroes in favor of music directors like Yuvanshankar Raja and Srikanth Deva. But recently he, along with composer Devi Sri Prasad sang for the music of James Vasanthan in the ‘Naanayam’. This peppy number will be one of the major attractions of the movie produced by Capital Film Works. ‘Naanayam’ has Prasanna, Ramya, Sibiraj and S.P. Balasubramaniam in the lead roles. The hottest news is that Silambarasan has lent his voice for his close friend and composer Srikanth Deva once more for the movie ‘Aadhinarayana’. But then this is the first time that the actor has sung for a new face actor. Sources even say that the actor did not take any fee for singing this song. Silambarasan who loves fast beat songs seems to be impressed

Simbhu joins KS Ravikumar as assistant director

How about ‘Little Superstar Simbhu’ assisting filmmaker K.S. Ravikumar? Ever imagined about that? But it has been confirmed that actor Silambarasan joins K.S.R. as assistant director. Don’t get frizzled with your puzzled thoughts. It’s all about Gowtham Menon’s ‘Vinnaithandi Varuvaaya’ featuring Simbhu and Trisha in lead roles.

According to the closer sources, Simbhu performs assistant director of KS Ravikumar in this film. Now, the biggest guess is that who would enact the same role in Telugu version. Gowtham Menon has been sharing good rapport with many filmmakers in Tollywood. If what we hear from the sources are true, then well-noted Puri Jaganath (maker of ‘Pokkiri’, ‘Deshamudhru’ and others) may enact that role.

Simbu makes Arun Vijay happy

Arun Vijay is a happy man these days. The reason is not just the successful running of his recent release ‘Malai Malai’, but also the congratulatory messages he has been getting from friends and well-wishers.

Silambarasan, who recently watched the movie, caught Arun Vijay over phone and expressed happiness that his ‘good friend’ has at last tasted success. ‘You are on the right track now. Keep up the good show,’ Silambarasan told Arun, according to sources.

Similarly, Jeevan too telephoned Arun and sang paeans on the actor for his performance in the film directed by A Venkatesh. ‘I am happy that others are happy with ‘Malai Malai’. I must thank all my colleagues and of course the Almighty,’ says Arun.

Simbu & DSP croons for ‘Naanayam’

Sakthi K Rajan is making his directorial debut with ‘Naanayam’. And the movie brings together interesting cast and crew.

James Vasanthan, who gave consecutive hits with ‘Subramaniyapuram’, ‘Pasanaga’ and the latest ‘Yaadhumaagi’, will be doing the music scores for ‘Naanayam’. Interestingly,

Simbu and Devisri Prasad have been roped in to lend their voice for this one. Together, they have sung the peppy club song, ‘Kakhaa’, the highlight of the movie. The lyrics of this musical track are done by Kavi Varman.

The star cast includes Prasanna, Raagini, Sibiraj and noted singer S. P. Balasubrahmanyam. After a long gap, SPB will don the role of a Bank Owner. Earlier he had done the same role in Vijay-Simran starrer ‘Priyamanavale’.

Sakthi K Rajan had initially been an associate director with Venkat Prabhu. So we have to see how this new director is faring on his own. ‘Nanayam’ is produced by SPB Charan under the banner of Capital Film Works.

Simbhu shares his experiences with Trisha

Simbhu is doing the lead role in the film Vinnai Thandi Varuvaya directed by Gautham Menon. Trisha is pairing with him in this film. Simbhu shared his experience about working in this film recently,” This is a beautiful romantic story. I am donning the role of an assistant director. Trisha is donning the role of a Malayalee girl. The story is about the romance which blossoms between us. The screenplay and making style will be entirely different compared to the other films I had acted. A R Rahman’s compositions have come out exceedingly well. We have shot three songs in Malta Islands. We have planned to shoot the climax scene in New York. We will be proceeding to America in few days.

Many are asking that why I am acting in a film which has no action scenes. This story is suitable to my age. I can act in love stories only at this age. I can do other roles after some years. I have acted normally as I have acted in other films. My acting in this film will be very pragm

Trisha denies her affair with Simbhu

Recently, there were rumors that both Simbhu and Trisha are in love. Hearing to this buzz, the actress has clarified her statement that she had paired up with Simbhu earlier in ‘Alai’ and now in ‘Vinnaithandi Varuvaaya’ and there’s nothing between them.

Says Trisha, “We are just friends and you needn’t carry on with your rumors on us.’ Also when asked about fan raising temples for their stars, Trisha comes up with yet another statement, ‘Temples are meant for God and not for humans. I don’t involve my fans in such acts and want them to carry on with social services…

SIMBU ON CLOUD NINE

Simbhu is over the moon, narrating his experience of working with director Gautham Vasudev Menon in Vinnai Thandi Varuvaya. Knowing the actor's fondness for direction, how did he enjoy playing the role of an assistant director? Though his role was made easy in a well-etched character, he had to get the lines right to the director's satisfaction.

Simbhu said the movie would be a milestone in his career, in a role which he hoped to bring out other facets of his personality. "There are characters where you simply live with that and this experience is something I would cherish for a long time," said Simbhu.

The actor is convinced that an artiste should not restrict himself to a parameter. "The audience is sure to accept the star if the character so portrayed is convincing," said Simbhu with an air of assurance.

And talking of his first love, Simbhu said his next directorial venture is Vaaliban, doubling up as an actor. All he has to do is wait till Vinnai Thandi Varuvayo sees the light

Silambarasan in Asal

Surprised? But yes, the latest rumour says that Silambarasan will be singing for the Ajith’s movie and that too the title song! Well-known is the fact that Silambarasan in all his movies carries the tag of being a Ajith’s fan. It was already in the air that Bollywood’s King Khan would do a cameo in it and now this piece adds more spice to the movie’s grapevine. But sources close to the movie strongly denies these rumours.

According to sources, the ‘Asal’ team have returned from Malaysia, wrapping a 45 day schedule. Having completed 30 percent of the movie, the director is now gearing up for the next schedule.

After ‘Asal’, Ajith’s 50th movie is equally attracting the gossip mongers. The golden jubilee movie is still waiting for its director to be finalised.
